Statement

越中正人はこれまで「集合（集団）」と「個（個人）」の関係性に着目し、偶然または必然によって集まった「個」の集合の中においての存在意義や相互作用について、人、花、火、星など、さまざまな素材を用いた写真と映像を制作してきました。
2007年に発表したシリーズ「echoes」は「UBS Young Art
Award」を受賞し、以降は越後妻有アートトリエンナーレ（新潟）、WROメディアアートビエンナーレ（ポーランド）などの国際展に参加するなど活躍の場を広げています。
近年、「個」の一つの事象に対する視点や認識が、近年の飛躍的な情報量の増加によって多視点と多様性を持つ筈にも関わらず、メディアによって作られた一つの捉え方や判断が、一件一件の事実とは無関係な画一的な認識へと定着している事柄について問題視しています。集団心理において根拠が曖昧であるのにもかかわらず、事実とは無関係に思考や言葉、そして行動までもが同一方向へ加速度を増して一人歩きしていきます。

Masahito Koshinaka, I have been focused on the relationships between “group” and “individual”. I made photography and video, uses various motifs such as fire, star, flower, people, and others seeking the
meaning of individual and its relationship to a group in which individuals gather of their own accord. Since I won the UBS Young Art Award at “Echoes” series in 2008, I’m having an exhibition widely both
domestically and abroad.
Recently, I'm focused on the matter that an event has seen one perspective, and it becomes standardized by the media despite its diversity carrying by recent rapid growth of information amount.
Wards, thoughts, and behavior have wings in a same direction despite a difficult to justify in group mind.
